I have been slowly driving around on back roads south of Santa Fe, exploring new territory and looking for a spot to set up and paint. We are in the "monsoon" season, and clouds are already building up for the afternoon storm. I catch a glimpse through the pinons of golden hills sloping off toward purple and blue mountains...this is where I stop and set up my easel. The storm didn't wait for long; I packed up as the first raindrops started falling.
