My mind is filled with a walk under New Mexico's bold blue sky among the peach, gold, and cream mesas of Ghost Ranch. Impressions of the day rather than details swept through me into this painting; I captured one magnificent moment looking up the golden mesa at the turquoise span of sky, and saw that the full moon was hanging transparent above the cliffs.
